Bob Tammen from Soudan, Minnesota

Bob and Pat Tammen have been prominent voices in the fight to protect Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness from proposed copper-sulfide mines. For years, the couple explored and enjoyed the BWCA. They built a life, and a community, around the environment and the clean water of northern Minnesota.

As a former miner, Bob knows from experience how mining degrades water and harms communities. In this short documentary, we look at Pat and Bob’s life together, the work they have dedicated themselves to, and how their efforts have helped protect Minnesota’s precious waters.
